Howdy,
First off, I should say, all my Betta Boys are doing fine, well and healthy and eating (for those of you that read my recent posts about sick and/or depressed bettas). They are all in their own 2.5 gal tanks currently, with heaters.

But I just bought two 5 1/2 gal tanks and, in the middle, siliconed in the plastic see-through dividers so I can put 2 bettas per tank. Do you think that being able to see each other constantly will be too stressful? The way they are arranged right now on the counter, they can see each other at all times, even though in sep. tanks. They flare occasionally at each other but not constant. They have plenty of plants and each has their own clay pot.

Thoughts on the divided 5 gals? Thanks.

you can decrease the visibilty by "planting" along the divider. thats what i do in my one divided tank. they have one spot where they can actually see other so when they need to flare, they do, usually when i feed them. the rest of the time, if one wants to be alone, he can be.

i was thinking of doing the same thing. right now 2 of my boys are divided by a transparent blue plastic divider. they do flare at each other a lot, but not all the time. they seem a lot happier and active than my other boy who is by himself at my work.

Good idea MAM, I'll try that. If all else fails and thye're stressed all the time, they can just go back into their private 2.5 gal...

Love the kitty dressed for the holidays, BTW...

I had my 2 males in a divided 10 gallon with a clear divider. At first they flared a lot but then quietened down. I did what MAM also does and planted along the divider

I hope they enjoy their new tank :)
