5.5 Gallon Tank

im planning on buying an eclipse 5.5 gallon tank and was going to put a betta in it but wanted the betta to have a few tankmates? What fish or animal can go in it.

a snail? corys wil be fine with your betta, but not sure if you'd have enough space even for pygmy corys. maybe shrimp?
your betta will be happy alone, so it's really for your enjoyment or as a cleanup crew that you'd be getting other fish imo.
there's probably some good suggestions for betta tankmates in the betta forum, or you could ask some of the betta lovers here what they have....actually i just thought about that, that was probably the point of your thread....sorry.

well there really isnt any other fish that will be fine with a betta everytime. its kinda hit and miss. most ppls bettas will tear guppies to shreads but mine swims with them all day long. its just what your betta is like.

In a 5.5 gal, I wouldn't mix anything with a betta.

People have reported that snails and most bottom dwelling fish do fine with bettas, but the tank is small for more fish.

you could have it with plants. i wouldnt get a 5.5g if i were u.

If at all possibly, I would go for a 10 gallon tank, maybe ever bigger if you can.

A male betta would be fine with either shrimps, snails or corydoras. Also a tank of just African Dwarf Frogs can be fun!

You can try shrimp, but some bettas will eat or at least try to eat shrimp.
