Tank: No preference, if the glass is close to optically flat, clear, there are edges to support the cover glass, and the seals are good, everything else doesn't matter, I prefer black silicone to clear but it isn't a big deal.
Top: Folding glass cover with cutouts for the piping and wires. Simple and easy to maintain. I once had a canopy on a tank that required a pully system to pull up to allow maintenance, never again.
Lighting: Fluvial LED (The one you can adjust on your phone, more of a toy, I suspect I would have it mostly white at 6000K equivalent in 6 months).
Stand: Home Made (No particle board, can use quality cedar to keep weight down)
Filtration: Fluvial 307 Canister or Aquaclear 70, Just because I know them. (the devil you know), might consider a homemade sump.
Heater: Jager, Fluval (prefer the none electronic variety), Just because I know them). I have a 15+ year Jager that I still use.
