4 year old strikes again

Just found out today that my youngest son stuck mama's sandal in the 70 gallon tank the other day. Now the water is a hazy green. I didn't have any aquarium charcole so I crushed up some that I use to cook with outside and rinsed it. Is there anything else I sould try?

I would also do a large scale water change.

Since it's your cichlid tank, I would do a 35%-50% water change. I've never had a problem doing large water changes with most cichlids.
