4 New Ottos

Bought 4 Ottos to help clear my planted tank, must say I have never had fish as crazy as these things! They are mental... Chasing the other fish and so active its unreal

They have cleared loads of the brown algae and their guts are full and round!

I've read a lot of articles that they can die unexpectedly, can anyone confirm this?

As long as they are good stock, are in a very well established planted tank and you introduced them slowly, there shouldn't be problems. They normally dart around when in search of food and do seem to swim with fish. Ours are complete nutters, especially the males.

Great little additions. Have you got any pics of the little guys?

Hey...

They looked good in the LFS, seemed quite fat and active... there is loads of food in the tank and I will introduce some green additional food for them. I introduced them slowly, took about 40mins - 15mins of letting them settle then slowly adding water.

The tank is not very well established however all parameters are right, will keep a close eye!

No pix yet, will get some over the weekend!!
