Okay I went out today with the intention of buying some shrimp for my tank, unfortunatly there were none in the lfs, so I thought about the crabs, then realising I don't have enough land for them I decided to get some Corys :D

Here's the four of them:

The 3 smaller ones:

I was wondering if someone could help me regarding, male and female, now I know the photos aren't very good but all help is appriciated, and also, what are the chances of them breeding.

Oh btw, what food do they like most, they seem to be okay with prawn in my tank.

my cory is fine with the rare algae tablets i put in and regular food that falls. hes the only cory so hes a little busy bee around my 33 gallon :)

My first attempt at real advice, sorry if anything isnt right guys: Delphax corydoras swallow the males sperm and release it from their guts into their pelvic fns, into which she has already released some eggs. she deposits these adhesive eggs on a surface where they will hatch 5-6 days later, depending on the temperature of the water. i dont know about how easy it is though.... im going to go look it up ^_^

Note: males are thinner then females, females grow larger and are fatter then the males.

Greetings. This purported method of egg fertilization in Corys is no longer the accepted theorem. The supposed Japanese scientific literature demonstrating this belief has never been substantiated. - Frank

What?
Now I'm confused. Frank... If that is wrong... where is the right answer? I know you know.
It has to be atleast close. I have watched them. In fact I had no idea how it worked until I saw them. I was shocked! My 4 year old asked what they were doing... I am still working on the right way to explain to her. All I could say was that she tickled him.

It is a truely amazing thing seeing it for the first time - mine was 3wks ago now, just hoping it gets replicated a few more times! :)

The milt is released during the "T" position and fanned across the eggs. There is, as far as we know, no actual ingesting of the milt by the female. I'm sure Ian can explain it in more accurate terms than I. Watch the movie! - Frank
