Have an AquaOne Evo 120 and want to put a 3D background in. I have two external filters with inlet pipes at each end, when the background is in place how would I attach the inlet pipes securely? Also, the U pipe that hangs over the back does not look wide enough to hang over the back and the 3D background. Would I need to buy wider U pipes (If they exist).

Have looked at fitting the the inlet pipes to the side of the tank but that is not an option due to the way the recess is positioned on the back, approximately 4-5" from the side. The spray bar and heater will fit on the side wall.

Any ideas or experience would be appreciated.

Problem, what problem???

Well, after all the huffing and puffing it went in a treat :good:

The inlet pipes and U pipe was a bit of a tight fit but just hangs over both tank and background with no movement (No need for suction cups)

Just waiting for the plant in the middle to grow and hide the join. Otherwise quite pleased with the outcome.

If you need to you can always snip a bit of the background out - its easily done with a pair of ceramic tile snippers.

Looking reeeeeeeeal goooooood! :good:

Howd you attatch it with water in the tank mate?

Well!!! Its not strictly attached...................

In a nutshell....Took the fish out and bagged them up, emptied half the tank, took out all the sand, cut the background to an almost perfect fit and squeezed it in (No silicone), then put in the gravel mix and filled up with water then replaced the fish.

There are no phsyical gaps any where. If I don`t get any problems then it will stay as it is.

There is a ledge at the back of the tank at the top to stop it floating away and about 3" of gravel at the bottom to hold it in place.

All in all took just over an hour.

Exactly what I did with my (ex) Betta tank......works a treat just be careful around vaccing time that you don't take too muck substrate away from the back :good:
