well I placed my first ever order through big al's online. Bought an emperor 400 and a via aqua 200W submersible titanium heater. I hope it goes smoothly never tried them before.

Tonight I also bought a 50lb bag of sndd from home depot and spent about 1.5 hours getting it cleaned. Put that in the tank.....not sure how I like it so far right now looks like beach sand but I guess we'll see once I get the water and rocks in and see then.

I'm hoping to have it running by next week. Anyone have a suggestion for moving the bacteria from the 5g to the new 37G ??? I was going to put the old filter pad in the new filter and move all the decorations over as well hopefully that'll be enough since the biowheel won't fit the new filter.

Nemo is getting a new home.

With the pad and the decorations you may be fairly close. Mind you the biowheel probably has quite a bit of your bacteria on it but you will have so much more water to dilute the ammonia that he puts off that the colonies that you introduced to the tank may keep up before Nemo notices much.
I'm glad he's getting a new place :D How ya gonna put in the hex?

I haven't decided what to do with the hex after nemo leaves it. I'm gonna try to keep it running with some liquid ammonia for a bit. I'm thinking about putting a set of guppies in there. Or maybe just a betta. really not sure yet.

Big Al's is great, I order from them all the time, shipping is a bit slow to get out here in NM. You shouldn't have any problems getting it within a few days though.

I have ordered from Big Al's, and while their merchandise arrived very quickly, due to an apartment complex snafu it was "lost" by the leasing office despite the fact that someone in the office had signed for it according to UPS. :grr: The people at Big Al's were very helpful, faxing a copy of the invoice to the leasing office, and i ended up getting credited the value of the items towards my rent. The leasing office later "found" these missing items (like 3 months later) under suspicious circumstances, and tried to get me to pick them up and pay the back rent. I told them they had the fax from Big Al's, they could see if Big Al's would credit them for the items if they returned them. I hope Big Al's said "no way" hahaha. At any rate, i would definitely order from Big Al's again and have it shipped to my work, the people that work there are very friendly and helpful.

what really sucks is the bacteria bloom in Nemo's curent tank finally went away (was caused by a filter failure and resulting bacteria death)
the water is crystal clear and now I'm gonna be starting him all over again(kinda) oh well he'll like the new home. Gonna put a backing on the tank today and then get it full of water so the sediment has time to settle before the filter arrives this week. I hope to move him over by this weekend.
