35 gal new tank set up

hey guys,

i will soon be setting up a new 35 gallon tank, and i want to use sand as my bottom media. is there anything that i need to know, like fish that don't like the sand too much, or plants that suit it filtration, that type of stuff

Well, I can tell you that cories and burrowing cichlids love the sand.

You can't use an undergravel filter and if stirred it'll kill mechanical filtration, too.
