hi i want to set up a 30 litre nano reef.

what exctly will i need ?? will i need a protein skimmer ?

to the salty side of life Adam. I'd suggest you start by reading through some of the stickies atop this section for some ideas on what you'll need. You do not need a skimmer on a tank that small, water changes will suffice. You will need:

tank
lights
powerheads
live rock
sand
salt mix
RO or distilled water
sea salt mix
test kits
refractometer or hydrometer
food
patience, lots of patience

and i'm sure I left stuff out Anyways, go have a read through the stickes and good luck

you will need crushed coral and live rock and a power head and a heater and a filter,let the tank cycle and add fish..

im running a 25 litre pico bough 1 clowm and 2 tube worms

do i need special lighting ? it will be a Tetra Aqua Art 30 tank with standard lighting - i might add some moonlights.

Depends if you want coral or not...
Patience is real important...dont go rushing into gettign any livestock straight away, except LR

no, dont get anything with life on it until you are done with thurough researching, dont even get live rock until you are done with the research stage, which should be a lot longer than most people think.

he's right though lol, postage more than the item? haha. anyway for a 30 litre a skimmer shouldn't be needed, just WC.
