I believe that you should cycle with some white clouds, then add some peaceful small barbs, followed by some rasporas, followed by some cories, followed by 1 male gourami or a pair (male/female) gouramis (though sometimes even they don't get along so be careful) but I could be partial seeing as my 20 gallon will eventually have 5 gold barbs, 6 rasporas, 3 cories and 1 male dwarf gourami. but I think the set up sounds good.

Get fish in all strata.

Are you hoping to breed any of your fish at some point? Can you add lots of real or artificial (IMO the former is better) plants to the tank?

You'll need a tall tank for angels, and I don't think any big cichlids would fit into a 30 gallon... It depends on the kind of fish you like, I can barely manage to pick fish for my own tank, so it's kind of hard for me to offer any suggestions for you other than what Temp has already said.

Well if I can breed any fish or if I get a pair (male and female) then I would want to, but if I'm getting a community tank than I would rather not. Convicts for example, I'd want for them to breed and other bigger fish too if they would fit.

You can get 6 juvenile angels and let them pair off. Even though they get territorial at breeding time, all you have to do is remove the leaf or stone that the fish lay eggs (and I suggest that you do because they aren't the best of parents...).

Like I said in your other post, if the first time was a fluke, manipulate the water and see if you can set up the tank in a way that gets you a constant supply of eggs, and you can hone your fry-raising skills.
