Well I woke up this morning to the obvious sound of one of my magdrives running dry in the basement. Figured I forgot to check the water level and it evaporated too low. Nope, went down to find the tank about 4 inches below normal. Turned all the power off and left for work (all ready running late at this point). Figured a snail moved the return or something and it pumpped itself dry. Nope came home from work and started to inspect everything. Found a crack in the back from the top center to the left bottom. Thankfully it cracked behind the overflow I put in and only drained about 10 gals out. If the overflow wasn't there I would have had 30 gals on the floor and a bunch of dead livestock. I was glad I hadn't done anything to the floor down there and most of it ran to the floor drain. Still a PITA to clean up.

So now I have a sump full of livestock and need ideas for a different tank. I am debating setting up a 75 to run as a reef and turn my 120 back into a FOWLR tank or to save all summer and buy or make my large tank this winter. I can get a 96x24x24 glass tank, stand and canopy for $1300 new or I can make anything under 96x96x96 acrylic. I was considering a 96x36x30 acrylic but I still haven't found a good place to put it. It is just my dream tank to keep the elasmobranchii that got me into keeping a marine tank. I guess I am just trying to get some extra ideas to see if I am missing any options. So lets hear them.

I found a nice spot for a 7x3x3 so I think I am going to build an acrylic tank to those specs. I want to keep another ray (probably a yellow) and I can also keep the shark if it survives. Hopefully I can get this thing constructed this coming winter. Bad thing is its going to cost a pretty penny so I guess I'm going to be stuck working all spring and summer to save up.
