I have counted 3 pregnant guppies in all

1 is in a breeding trap - but you can tell she is not happy there at all - her gravid spot seemed to have disappeared yesterday but its 'back' today - perhaps she was just stressed out.

I am thinking of putting and her 2 preg friends into a 50 L tank cos they're being stressed out by the males in the other tank

I would like to 'rescue' a few fry and put them into the breeding trap.

Do you think the 3 females will be OK all alone in the 50L tank ? Will they eat each others fry ? Or do only males eat fry ?

I dont want any more babies - in fact am thinking of separating the adult males+females as I'm looking to give them away anyway in the next few days..

both male and female guppies will eat fry. and a female guppy can store sperm for up to six months....so even seperating the adult males and females could leave you with more drops for the next 6 months or so....

if you do not want to deal with fry....get rid of your adults to some one who can care for them and buy virgin fish of the same sex from a store that separates the genders

as long as the fry have places to hide they should be ok. if you want to cut down on fry i suggest getting a betta or other fish...if you dont want to get rid of the fish you have.
