I'm planning on getting a 55 US gallon soon and was just wondering if 3 shoals (of atleast 6 members each) could comfortably live in the tank? If this is possible, I was thinking choosing between Elegant, Panda, Slate, Venezuelan Black, C. araguaiaensis, or C. axelrodi (don't know their common names) cories. I'd also considered pygmies but heard that they were pretty fragile. Does anyone have any ideas because the only cories I have any experience with are Trilineatus. I've looked online and got estimates that meat my water conditions, but I just want to make sure.

Little info on the tank: Standard tank, weekly water change, HARD water, pH about 7.0, sand substrate of course, fake plants, lots of hiding places, considering putting wood in for the plecos, air stone or two

Tank mates I'm considering:

Clown Plecos
Guppies
Glowfish
Scissortail Rasboras (moving from my current tank)

I may move my 5 Trilineatus over too and use the 10 gallon for breeding/fry, depends on how many I can have in the 55 gallon
