Hi,

Would anyone be interested in a 2ft cube at 1ft high plywood tank, can be painted a colour of your choice. We have 3 for sale ideal for a small breeding set up and can be sold with a stand also painted to a colour of your choice. The pic is of our set up and the 2ft tanks can be see in the corner, these are NOT the tanks for sale but will look the same just the colour you want. (without the maskin tape around the windows).

These tanks are built with 18-25mm WBP (weather and boil proof) plywood with a 0.5mm grade pvc pondliner for water proofing. The windows are 6mm float glass and double siliconed. We can also supply a natural clay back ground which also adds polystyrene insulation. You are welcome to come view ours in use.

thanks for looking

Let me know if you need any more details

BUMP- These could be made waterproof using liquid rubber if people would prefer. BUMP

Hi guys,
Hope you and your fish (especially the Clown Loaches in the 8x4x2) are doing well.

What sort of ballpark figure are you wanting for...
A single tank?
All three tanks?
All three tanks and a stand to hold all three?

How high (roughly) is the top of the top tank likely to be in the stand setup?

Aquajardin have got some gorgeous "red eye" puffers (salivator and irrubesco) and I'm serious considering a species only tank, along with some beautiful Killis including the fiesty Persians (again would need a species tank)!

I don't want to insult you with a rediculously low offer for one or several, but I'm wondering how the price compares to basic Clearseal tank that can be had at P@H (eg. a 30x12x15 for £32).

If you are still doing the Wholesale Tropical "runs" (which I want to send you a PM about over the weekend, hopefully), I could beg and plead with the Aquajardin manager to let me reserve until I have the tanks.

Cheers,
Steve

I too am curious about the price of a single tank....rough estimate.

Thanks for looking :) A rough guide for each tank would be £40 no more, maybe less. Or could do all 3 at £100. The stand would cost £60 roughly.

Steve... Dont forget the powers of good old saline! (salt water) It works wonders on even the worst infections and of course keep up the large water changes but I would suggest 50% daily on the tank would be fine otherwise you could do more harm than good. Glad to see they are responding well now tho! The last order from Fareham wasn't great to be honest, but I am starting importing (first one this week) so let me know I i can see what I can do! if you have tank space you could sell on! ;)

Glad your well.

thanks

Thanks for the pricing ballpark, its certainly something to "chew" on.

How high would the three-tier stand be?
Would I be right in thinking these tanks would realistically need an external filter, or do you feel they could happily accept an internal, like say a Fluval U4?
Any general advice on a lid and how to light these plywood tanks?

I have to admit that part of my asking was not only because of my puffer and killifish ponderings, which still need more consideration (partly as both fish have their own care issues eg. male A. mento aggression with a single female rather than a hareem; how to keep a puffer tank pristine and feed enough snails to keep their constantly growing beaks in check), but also because I have a hunch that some forum members held back on offers (the advert has had plenty of views) because they are aware of your huge self-build tank project.

This is not just a Clearseal tank that has been built in bulk in some factory, you guys have spent time and effort on designing; templeting; assembling; proof testing your ideas. :)

I need some time to think this one through, but hopefully in the meantime you might get some active interest on these tanks (plus optional stand) and good luck with the first import batch!

how much would one be if it was waterproofed?

Reason I ask is i might consider one if it can be used for an emmersed plant setup a type riparium maybe?

The stand is 76"/193cm up to the top rim of the tank :)
We filter our tanks with internal homemade box filters running on a Secoh pond pump (it sounds like you've got multiple tanks and this might be a more economical way of filtering AND ensuring airstones for every tank), and this works perfect so I think you would only need an external if the stocking was particularly heavy.
For lids, we've used 3mm acrylic in the style of glass sliders BUT this has warped so it would need to be thicker. We can provide plastic sliders for glass up to 4mm thick if you would like for no extra charge if you wanted to buy your own glass for this :)
We used some DIY T5 lighting kits bought from eBay for £28 ea. (this includes a ballast and wiring for two T5 HO bulbs but not plug) - we light two tanks with each ballast (1 bulb per tank) and have made makeshift reflectors and screwed the bulb holders into the stand above each tank and used chains from the ceiling for the top tank. We bought our bulbs for about £3 each from an online retailer - just standard T5 HO tubes, but work great!

We could also send you a big bucket of snails for those puffers because they seem to go hand in hand with bristlies lol and we have thousands!!

Mongwopman - the tanks are already waterproofed using Technoseal non-toxic liquid membrane so they would be perfect for an immersed plant setup :)

Do you not live in Hampshire ? Ur profile says something bout it lol

Cause im intrested but only if live in Hampshire

Interesting! How many of these do you have or do you make them yourself? Reason being I really want one but I am cashless at the moment and the wife might have heart failure if i get another tank in the house before we move in September!

We have made these ourself. At the mo we have 3. We can actually make to order (different sizes ect) Im lucky because both myself and vicki are equally mental about fish, hence the 24 tanks! lol

Just let me know, im sure these will still be here in sep tho, not really had much interest. I think they are like marmite!

cheers

Hi guys, this is a bit of a longshot, but would you be interested in trading any of the following...

4x 7cm Barilius canarensis (although it could well be "sp. 2" looking at http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/content.php?sid=50 )
3x 6cm Barilius dogarsinghi (actual species needs confirming)

For a tank?

The above were sold as "Mackeral Barb" at Southern Aquatics, based in Cadnam. The shop did not really know much about them, said someone supplies regular younsgsters, thought they were all Barilius bakeri (but the time before I bought these seven, I was pretty sure of three different species in the tank).
I took a gamble on getting these to hopefully team up with my two Opsarius, but it has not worked out, with the red-finned ones causing havok in my riverine tank (despite their size and they could grow to be 14cm if they are canarensis and not "sp. 2"). They will need a 5-footer long term, with loads of current and a sub-25C temp ideally.

I'm on the verge of contacting local fish stores about a trade, hoping I could trade them for some young Blind Cave Tetra and/or Butterfly Goodeids, but thought I'd give you two first refusal ;)

HI SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY. WE DONT REALLY HAVE ENOUGH SPACE, OTHERWISE I WOULD AS THEY ARE LOVELY! ALTHOUGH IF YOU BOUGHT ONE OF THESE TANKS OFF US YOU WOULD HAVE ENOUGH SPACE FOR THEM AND MORE!!!!! :hyper:

SORRY AGAIN
