Hi. I have a 29 gallon or 110 litre fish tank and I was wondering if I could add any bottom dwelling fish, I have two questions. My stocking is 2 Honey Gouramis, 5 platies, 3 Otocinclus and 7 cherry barbs. What else could I have? I have a lot of live plants and also a filter that is able to handle larger aquariums than mine. I would love some corydoras, however from what I've read they don't like gravel which is what I have. Is there any that would fit in with my tank stocking and that will
thrive with a gravel substrate? Thanks in advance

Yes you can have some substrate-level fish. If cories (which would otherwise work here) you should have sand. Cories are filter feeders, and to be at their best they need a smooth sand substrate. Yes, they will "survive" over gravel, usually, but that is not thriving.

Like Byron said, corydora need sand. Most bottom dwelling fish fare better with sand.

How about more Otocinclus?

Thanks for your reply. Would something like Kuhli loaches work? Or do they also need sand?

You need a gravel vac with bottom dwellers as bottom dwellers don't clean the bottom, they have to be fed and create more poop ;)
