I just filled up my used 29 gal yesterday. I bought it because it was a complete set up for 50 bucks, and it looked to be like new. I just noticed that the front is bowing out a little, about 3/16in. Should I toss it? or can I empty it and glue in a brace? I pulled out about 10gal to reduce the strain, but right now I gotta go to class!

Throwing it out would be a shame, it's barely been used!

I'm not sure if this was a set bend, because I didn't look at it that closely before I put it up....

Thanks for your time!

Fluvals aren't braced and they do this. Mine certainly has since I bought it over 2 years ago and I can see it bow at each weekly 50% water change when I get to about 80% full.

Worried me to begin with but not any more

can I maybe buy a new top piece with the cross brace? The original doesn't have one.

It's a standard sized tank, don't recall the exact dimensions but is there a chance I could find a tank by another manufacturer that would fit?

or should I drain the tank and silicone a piece of glass between the walls?

Thanks!
