26mm Stainless Steel Mesh Filter Intake Guard

Has anyone found a source of the above in the UK? The 26mm bit is the outside diameter of the intake pipe and the only ones I can find in the UK are 16mm. I found these in the States: ebay listing but they want another eleven quid delivery. I can't believe that no one in the UK supplies these but if they do, I can't find them.

Have you considered a coarse sponge pre-filter instead? I'm using these on a couple of tanks and quite like them and in addition to preventing small critters from getting into the filter, they offer another potential platform for beneficial bacteria.

I have but have had no more joy finding suitable fitments. I could use any old filter material but it always looks so naff and it would be nice if I could find a professionaly cut piece. I use an FX5(six now) so if I use sponge it has to be on a supporting framework otherwise the power in the filter will just cause it to collapse inwards.

Only in the States though, postage problem would be the same to the UK.
