Hello, for a year now I’ve had a 25-gallon community tank and have had various species of fish living in it. I also have a smaller 10-gallon which up until they died held two African Cichlids (Yellow Lab and a Bumble Bee). Now that they died I was thinking of using the tank to house my tetras, danio's and a blue dwarf gourami and using the 25 gallon to house New World Cichlids because the pH matches that of a community tank. The only fish that would be in here with it would be 2 huge Australian Rainbows and two Cory cats. I was thinking of either A. a German Blue Ram because they only get up to 3-4 in. and are not aggressive or B. A white convict that would stay under 6in. and my friends have had positive experiences with them in communities.

Does anyone have any suggestions of either other kinds of cichlids or if the ones I thought are good/bad choices?

The 10G is probably too small for the Danios, as while they don't get that big, they are very active and need plenty of swimming space.

A pair of Rams would work well in the 25 and you could keep the Tetra and the Danios in with them. I strongly advise you keep the Rams and the Gourami seperate from each other, they really don't get on.

Yea Ive heard that as well but how about the 3 tetras I would assume they would be fine in a 10 gallon.

As I was looking at some sites this morning I found out that Cockatoo Cichlid are only 3 1/2 inches would they work?
