would this be ok? its a big old house with a new wodden floor put down about 3 years ago in this room.

do you think this would be ok? it will be up against 2 proper brick walls if that matters

anyone know

thanks

sorry dont know how i ended up posting here

ment to do it in hardware and diy can a mod delete it please and i will re post it in the right place

find out wich way the floor boards go and the beams will go the opposite direction try and get the tank situated over many beams to take the wieght the water in the tank will wiegh around 240 kilo rough guide for fresh water is 1 litre = 1kilo.

if the floor bourds are running towards you the beams will run at a right angle to them

i just found this for you mate just confirms what i said but better explained lol

lift the carpet, check that where ya want the tank, that the floorboards dont run parallel with the tank ie youre looking at tank against wall the floorboards should run towards you, lay a bit of timber[mdf or similar]where the tanks going on floor then put the stand on top of this, the weight will then be dispersed evenly this will do the trick, old victorian floor boards are thicker than newuns

ok thanks well we will get our trusted builder to check it out but its got a hardwood floor there and mum says its strong

What kind of stand is it on? Like Jay said, try and span it over as many joists (not floorboards) as you can. Figure out the distance between each joist from center to center, fro example if they're 24 inches apart and your tank is 48 inches long then presto, your stand will span 3 joists.
