After taking a bit of a break from my fish keeping hobby, I have finally decided it is time to start getting back into it. I plan to focus first on the main tank, my 240 litre planted tank, as that is currently planted and has stock in it. However, the new aquascape I’ve decided on will mean all new plants and mostly new stock. The plants will either be sold or kept to use in my other two tanks (60 litre “The pond” or my 48 litre tank). My current stock is as follows: 10 Trigonostigma heteromorpha, 10 Hyphessobrycon Pulchripinnis, 10 Corydoras aeneus, 10 Boehlkea fredcochui and 4 Cleithracara maronii. I will be keeping the 10 Corydoras aeneus and 1 male and 1 female Cleithracara maronii.
The new aquascape is a junge type planted tank, which is why I will be calling it "The jungle". I will be changing the substrate from sand to black sand or fine gravel. Lighting will stop the same as it is now, 2x 40w T8s. The plants are as follows:
A) Microsorum pteropus
B) Bolbitis heudelotii
C) Vallasneria americana gingantea
D) Crinum natans
E) Crinum calimistratum
F) Aponogeton boevinianus
G) Aponogeton crispus 'Red'
H) Echinodorus 'Ozelot'
I) Echinodorus 'Rubin'
J) Echinodorus quadricostatus
K) Sagittaria subulata
L) Hygrophila pinnatifida
M) Anubias barteria var. barteri
N) Limnobium laevigatum
The plants will be arranged as this diagram shows:
The new stocking will be as follows:
30x Thayeria boehlkei
30x Paracheirodon innesi
10x Corydoras aeneus
10x Hyphessobrycon colombianus
2x Cleithracara maronii (1 male and 1 female)
So, here is a picture of how it should look and some pictures of the stock that is going in it!
