23.4 gallon oddities tank?

Is a tank this small worth being that specialised, am i going to be better off with a couple of odd fish and just going standard community? I really want to have a couple of very eye catching, different fish with some chiclids, perhaps a few of the old faves dropped in too....

Did you have any specific species in mind. The answer is yes, you can probably put together something, but you are limited in species because of the small tank size, especially with cichlids.

You could try a combination of shell dwelling cichlids and south American puffers or dwarf puffers
But you need to be a little more specific, for instance, you could try one of the many brackish cichlids, and get either brackish gobies or some other brackish oddball fish (Glass fish, puffers,etc).
