Had been thinking male betta, but my visit to maidenhead aquatics has put some doubt in my mind, i need some suggestions from you guys as to what my options are in a 20L tank..

I dont have the tank dimensions right now as the tank isnt with me, but its pretty much square...

So.... basically....

20L Tropical tank ideas... SHOOT!

20 litres is perfect for one male betta and you could have some tank mates (betta permitting). What was it at maidenhead that put you off? Do I need to show you pictures of the awesomeness of bettas?

I can't recall off the top of my head but could do a gorgeous planted tank with shrimplets?Im sure others will be along to help!

You dont need to talk me into keeping bettas, i've kept them before... lovely fish.. nothing as such put me off at maidenhead, its just put more ideas in my head (though it didnt help that the male's are £15 each and kept in with tetras)..

I'm just considering alternatives..

Ah sorry then! Lol. Oh dear those conditions do not sound good...hmmm, I am not the best at stocking though sure peeps will be along with really good alternatives.

Oh! Duh you could totally have one dwarf puffer fish in there. I have had these and they are total characters, you maky think one isnt much but personality wise they are unparalelled! otherwise perhaps some guppies? As that amount of litre wouldnt be great for shoaling fish or cories etc. How about javanese rice fish??

Quite like the idea of a dwarf puffer, something a bit different.. I know my choices are limited but theres a few reasons why i'm not using anything bigger.. hmmm...

i've got over a month before i get anything anyway so im quite happy to sit here and recieve peoples ideas :)

You are very limited im afraid

My suggestion would be make it into a planted aquarium and then add 1 male betta and then cherry shrimp. It would look fantastic!
