20g Tank-thread

Here is my official tank thread...it may be more than 8 months after start-up, but better late then never. Lot's of pics.

Well, it's a 20H actually, I just cropped out the top half of the tank in the last FTS.

UPDATE: So, here are some new pics of my corals and fish. A FTS will be coming soon.

enough flow for sps? I run a hydor 2 on my 20H predominantly lps tank and a maxi-jet 600.... granted that the maxi is pointing vertically upwards for surface agiation...

My montis are doing great...lot's of growth and great colors. My pink birdsnest is doing surprisingly well too. I've got a Koralia 1 that's directly 10" away from the SPS corals

UPDATE: The most important piece of my reef has been upgraded. I replaced my 130w of PC lighting with a 250w MH pendant. When I upgrade to a bigger tank I'll use this as a frag tank. So, may as well get some nice lights now. Also, now I can keep acros considering my params are A-okay

The ballast is a 250w Galaxy Electronic Ballast and has got a foot print of 8.5"x5". The reflector is a Sunlight Supply Reef Optix 1. I'm using a mogul based Hamilton Technology 14k 250w MH bulb. For now, the pendant's sitting on my desk. I'm going to be hanging it off a shelf support, I've got to drill all the necessary holes first.

In addition to my new lighting, I'm going to change the whole filtration of the tank. I'm going to get a new 20H tank and put a false wall in it. It's going to be based on the fall wall in my 2.5g pico so it's going to have an equipment chamber ,and a fuge chamber. I may also get a Berlin air-lift skimmer. Then I'll transfer all my livestock, rock, equipment e.t.c. into the new tank. I'll also get some new aragonite. Can't wait till it's all done!

well tank size doesnt really matter, a 250 watt is a 250 watt no matter what tank size

Wow, those would cost 20 US here. Maybe next time I drive up to Canada for a road trip, i might smuggle some back down
