20 Gallon To 55 Gallon

how much have you spent on a 55 gallon tank? (only the tank, air pump, filter, gravel, heater) i want to upgrade my tank size for the fishes sake. right now i have a 20 gallon tank with aqua 30 plus filter would i be able to buy another aqua 30 plus and use both for a 50 or 55 gallon tank?

its best to get a canister for large aquaruims...like a eheim pro 2 or a rena 3 or 2 filter , which btw is cheaper and is also effective

i would run a fresh water tank so would i need a Protein Skimmer? and what brand is good if i do need it. is this a good filter? Eheim Professionel Series- 2224 Plus Kit

I dunno abt the skimmer , u dont need it ,although I have heard some ppl using it for fw tanks......Any eheim series are gd , but i would get an eheim that has a self primer like the pro 2 series; i had some problems priming my eheim classic ....the 2224 is ok but I would get 1 that is suitable for 75 or 100 gallon tanks....over filtering is always gd , also, if u wante to upgrade ur tank later for a bigger tank u dont need to buy another filter

as for the air pump i have a Elite 802 would that be fine for 50 or 55 gallon?
