Well, last night I spent about 3-4 hours cleaning and dismantling my destroyed freshwater tank in order to prepare it for saltwater. Either today or tomorrow I am going to be picking up water for the tank and adding Instant Ocean Salt after a day or two of letting the water circulate and heat up. Pictures will follow soon, more to come.

Good Luck with your venture and I wish you every sucess.
Look forward to seeing the pics
Regards

Well, I am thinking, a pair of clows, a goby, CUC, Sexy Shrimp, Mushrooms, any other suggestions?

In case you are interested, a dwarf lion would do pretty well. Of course it would eat the sexy shrimp (but there isn't much that won't).

I've always wanted a lion, I could skip the shrimp, I think they are cool, but, not necessary.

Well, I was about to go get my water, and................ my battery is dead in my car, considering my car is a 2001 and the battery is original.

Ok well after some thinking, I have a spare aqueon 10( 100gph ) HOB that I might use as a fuge for chaeto, that would bump my flow up to 365gph which should be pretty nice. I am getting about 25 gallons of water tomorrow for the tank, and hopefully salt too so I won't have to run out on Friday to pick that up.

Added the salt just a while ago, took some pictures, I'll post them up later. I'll be testing levels in the morning and then adding sand and rock tomorrow. I went to buy water at the store and they looked at me like I was crazy for buying 25 1 gallon jugs of water.

Here's where we sit now, all levels are at 0, sg is 1.023, temp fluctuating between 74-76. I added 10lb of live sand and 10lb of dead sand, and a cup full of live sand and crushed coral from the lfs. I let it clear up and then added a 5lb piece of Fiji live rock with lots of red coralline algae( i think?). I am having problems with image hosting right now so as soon as I can get it to work, they'll be up.

Alright here are the pics:

This is about 4 hours after I added the salt, and the aqueon 10 that will eventually be used as a fuge.

about 5 minuets after I added sand.

It's been about 10 hours since I added the sand and the rock and here is what's up now:

I've already got algae growth on the sand and the piece of live rock is attaching itself to the sand, so far, so good.

So I'm am on the 4th day since adding the water and I'm excited to be where I am at. Here are some pictures. I am wondering if there will be very little cycle since the piece of live rock has been cured for three months and the other 15lbs that I am getting this weekend has been established for three years, I don't know, any thoughts anyone? Well onto the pictures:

Well that's all for tonight, I am expecting to get a new heater tomorrow, since the one I currently have which is very cool, is malfunctioning and overheating. Hopefully I can find one that will fit on my HOB that can heat the tank enough.
