ive not had these fish that long but after being in with my rays for about a month my rays dont seem the same as they were. there is no aggression at all in fact they live in peace together but the rays are just not as active as they were.
both gars are very healthy and eating well feeding on prawns, mussel, hikari pellets. they are both spotted gars which can get quite big so will need a big tank eventually but they are not the monster aligator or florida gars so you wont need a tropical pond for them.....
they are stunning fish to watch and almost look prehistoric but they are predatory fish that will 100% eat small fish that can fit in their mouths. so no tetras, barbs etc etc for tank mates.
they are mainly surface dwelling fish which is the reason i bought them to add some movement in the top half as the rays are mainly bottom dwellers.
i would guess that the smaller of the 2 is about 8 inches and the bigger about 10. this does include their mouths which are very long and fins.
im looking for offers of about £60-65 for the 2, i paid much more for them
i can deliver locally but would prefer collection from leicestershire.
pics are of actual fish
