i have had a change around with my tanks and bought these L333's to go into my discus tank but having now sold my discus these fish do not fit into my tank stocking. ive had them from very young about an inch and have been growing them up in their own tank until they were big enough to compete for food in the main tank, they are now about 2.5 inch in length and eating plenty of prima, bloodworm, prawn, tabimin.
for those that dont know much about them they are carnivores so wont eat your plants, they grow to about 5-6 inch max so can be kept in a smaller tank.
im not sure on the sex of them but they are very healthy fish and eating well.

im looking for £30 for the pair. im in leicestershire and would prefer collection or i can deliver at fuel costs.

WOW!! Just checked these out on Plnet Catfish and they look amazing! Would love them but not getting ready for a plec community until start of next year I'm afraid Matt. I'm gutted as I am in Leicester also, whereabouts are you??

im just south of Leicester in Broughton Astley.
these are a wonderfull looking L number and not easy to get hold of from lfs without paying about £30 each if you can find any.....
im not in a mega rush for them to go but it would free up another tank as they are in on their own at the minute as i was trying to grow them up to be added to my discus tank. but sadly sold my discus and these dont fit in with my stocking now.....

heres planet catfish's profile of these great L numbers -

i maybe interested in a swop for different L number if anyone has anything.....

not bristlenoses though, sorry.....

Do they need any special requirements?
they prefer slightly warmer temps and are mainly meat eaters so wont eat any live plants but have been feeding mainly on prima while growing up.
they are in at 28 degrees C and pH 7.5 and are growing really well, and will only grow to about 6 inches max.

Hmm, maybe a little too cool in my tank. 24-25 degrees.

Its a community tank. Only 100 litre too. Im not sure if that would be big enough. What size tank are they in at the moment?

they are both in a 65L tank which i was growing them up in as they were tiny when i first got them and i didnt want anything trying to eat them

i am actually thinking now of keeping 1 of them and putting it in my main tank which is at 26-27 degrees which should be ok for them.

what species do you ave to have a tank at 24-25 degrees?

they can exist quite happily in lower temps, but they will not show there full colouration.

And they def wont breed! mine are kept in a 120L tank at a constant 30 degrees, and are breeding quite happily at the mo :)
