Need some help please on a couple of sick fish....

The first one is a Betta bought from a rubbish fish shop in Chesterfield about 1 year ago. He has been ill on and off ever since and this time has taken a turn for the worse. First off about six months ago I had to remove a anchor worm from his head but made a full recovery but over the past few weeks he has been lying at the bottom of the tank and not moving much and only coming up for air etc. It wasn't until he developed fungus on his face that I decided to put him in a hospital tank.

He is on day 6 of a course of protozin and his face seems to be looking better but not perfect. He is still just lying at the bottom of the tank (looks dead almost) and keeps coming up for air he is eating however! Not sure what treatment to start next as protozin is a 6 day course. Any advice?

The second is a black widow bought from Wharf Aquatics about a year ago. Been perfect health until one night I came back from work and noticed him in a bogwood cave which is half the size of him! Not sure how he got in there! left him for a while to see if he could get himself out but in the end had to blow him out with a turkey baster! He has now got scales missing out of the top and bottom of his body. He is also missing his pelvic fins (stubs remain) and some of his dorsal fin! After keeping a close eye on him he developed fungus on all affected areas so had to be in another hospital tank!

He is on day 3 of a course of protozin. The fungus has fallen off all but on is dorsal fin which I removed today and dabbed some methalyne blue on. He is not eating but is swimming around (not well though).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Been researching a bit and found Mardel Labs Maracyn II powder medication. Heard its a powerful anti-biotic. Is this what I need to buy?

Thanks

METHONAL BLUE AND GREEN ARE APPROX 1 DOWN FROM ALCHOL, SO THEY ARE GOOD STRONG TREATMENTS TO CURE FISH.

i ALWAYS USE A MULTI CURE.
iT IS MAINLY METH BLUE.
mY MULTI CURE, AIDS IN CURING OF WHITE SPOT, VELVET DISEASE AND FUNGAL ALL AT ONCE :)

iT SOUNDS LIKE A CASE OF BAD FIN ROT AS THE FINS BECOME THIN AND WISPY LOOKING LIKE WET COTTON. AND HE COULD ALSO HAVE SOME WHITE SPOT.

CHECK VERY CLOSE ON HIS BODY FOR TINY WHITE SPOTS, IF UNSURE, A TOURCH WITH HELP SHINE HIS COLOURS AND U WILL SEE IF THERE IS A WHITE RASHY TRAVEL, WITH WHITE SPOT ONCE VERY BAD FISH WILL ALSO BREATH ALOT MORE THEN USUALL AND HEAVERLY TOO, THE WILL NOT SWIM ALOT, THEY COULD SIT IN THE TOP OF PLANTS, AND WHEN AT A BAD STAGE THEY START TO SHAKE AND RUB THEMSELVES ON ANYTHING. WITH WHITE SPOT IT IS A PARISITE, AND IT SLOWERLY EATS YOUR FISH.

yOUR FISH ETHER WAY WOULD BENIFT FROM A CLEAN WATER BATH IN TAP WATER, TANK HEAT WARTH OF COURSE, AND WITH TAP WATER CONDITIONER IN IT, TO KILL ANY THING ON YOUR FISH STRAIGHT AWAY. IN A BUCKET IS FINE :)

aLSO DO A 20% WATER CHANGE IN YOUR MAIN TANK DAILY. AND UP YOUR HEATER 2 DEGRESSES HELPS KILL PARISITES :)
