1. one of my cleaner shrimp seems to have gone a green colour above its swimmerets (sp.). not got a good enough view yet but could they be eggs or just an odd colouration. The other cleaner is just the ususal yellow colour in that area.

2. have got some green bubble algae that came in on a zoa frag. what the best way to get rid? don't want to get a mithrax crab. isn't really a problem but is a bit unsightly. FYI rock can be removed if needs be.

all comments welcome

1) Green in that area of a shrimp is usually eggs, yes :good:

2) Pass, the only time I got green bubble algea in my tank it just died off :good:

Sorry that wasn't overly helpful

well 1 out of 2 ain't bad rabbut! cheers

the bubble algae isn't growing very quickly at all but would prefer it to not be on the rock its on as i need to get around to fixing it in place somewhere soon, and would rather the algae not be on there when i do that.

For the bubble algae if you can get the rock out I would take it out and scrap it off with a razor blade (not sure if its the best way but its what I would do :) ).

having just had a quick read up on breeding cleaner shrimp it seems that both my shrimp could potentially carry eggs and fertilise each others (hermaphrodites).

might think about putting the shrimp into the sump just before it releases its eggs and see if they'll grow on in there.

Worth a shot, but cleaner shrimp are notoriously hard to raise in captivity, due to the tiny size of the lavae  Good luck with it :good:
