Well tonight I made the decision to end the suffering of 2 of my fry from my accidental spawning.

The one with the dislocated jaw had been struggling to eat for a few days now and also to come up for air. Her mouth, which was constantly open, had been getting narrower and narrower till tonight it was barely a slit. She was getting thinner and she was staying at the top with clamped fins.

The belly slider was also struggling to reach the surface even though I lowered his water to a couple of inches. He was lying on his side completely tonight so I put them together and used clove oil.

RIP little guys :byebye:

RIP little guys.

Thanks guys

Its really hard when they are so little and should have a good life ahead of them

SMSBrunetteGirl the remaining ones look good, even the crooked spine one is growing well and enticing her brothers which are jarred next to her to bubble nest

Thanks Wuv

I'm sure it won't be the last time I have to do it :-(

oh and OMG about your dropping the container incident!

poor little guy, I hope he's ok with all that bouncing and the container landing on him

Oh I know :S The worst part was that I accidently and unwillingly took a step back and thought
"Omg! Don't move anymore or you'll step on him!!" It was one of my little red DT's too. Not that it would have been better if it was an ugly duckling or anything, I'd still be just as traumatized  I think he'll be ok though,my fish are usually tough as nails and he seemed like it was all forgiven and forgotten this morning
