i am getting a betta for my 2 gallon tank should i put a areator in it? and where can you get cheap food on the net?
thx to all who reply 8) oh ya and does he need surface air? thx

Sorry we all missed your first post... we get a tad lazy at times. Well okay so I do and shouldn't speak for the other's lol

A 2 gallon for a betta works great. If you have filter & heater you really don't need much more..in my experience betta's are finiky little bugger's.. one may like to play in the bubbles from an airstone while another may not.. If you want to add it just keep an eye on how the betta reacts and act accordingly. I have 1 betta in a 55gal community( he likes the bubbles) I have another who freaks out if the water in his tank so much as moves. I know your reading this going that is such a non answer, answer lol and um your kinda right  each betta is different with a personality of it's own..

oh and make sure ya keep a lid of some sort over the tank, betta's jump

hth some...at least I did finally give ya something to go on lol

Rhonda

Yes your betta does need surface area so it can breath the air. I've actually heard of a betta drowning because it's little container was filled to the max!
