Hi All,

Im upgrading my tank from a 260ltr to a 530ltr & I've been told by my LAS that I would be better off buying a Large filter instead of using 2 smaller filters ( That add up to the total volume). I currently have a 1200/hr Aqua One & was looking to buy a 1500/hr @ about $130.
He also suggested that I buy a Fluval FX5, one of the most expensive filters available. :grr:

Is this filter overkill ?? If not does anyone have one & what can you recommend.

Thanks for your help,
Shane

Depends what you plan to keep in it. If you will be having big waste producing fish, then an FX5 should be fine. Otherwise 2 filters should be fine. I use an Eheim Pro II 2128 and a Rena FilStar XP3 on my 125 (US) gallon (423 liter) tank.
