2 Filters - How Long Together?

With only a small struggle I have got my new (external) Fluval 305 running alongside the Juwel internal filter. I did not seed it with squeezings from the mature filter. How long should I leave the Fluval to establish itself before getting out the old one? I am not in a hurry but look forward to more room in the tank.

i would say 2 week would be sufficient.

is there any way you could add some of the juwel pads into the external - even if it is just a matured white polish pad?
