Total newbie - afraid to start setting up. Spent a lot of time reading the boards, but still need reassurance from you pros....

Chose a 47 gal column tank to maximize gallons in a small foot print space. Going for a basic community - white clouds, danios, couple of guppies, maybe some shrimp.

So - are 2 Eheim 2213 Classics enough gph? Should I switch to 2215s before I start?

Also confused about what pads/agents to start with in the canisters. They came with NO instructions, but I've read enough on the boards to understand that the type of fish and the gph play a part in deciding what filtering agents are appropriate.

How often to open and rinse/replace the filter agents under these conditions?

Young neighbor is giving me gravel from her tank, so I know I need to add at least the Danios or something at the same time. Just afraid to take the big leap!

Thanks in advance......
