2 day old betta making bubbles?

new tank, new water..i put him in there 2 days ago and hes making bubbles on top of water? does this mean hes happy? the water never cycled

Sounds like he's bubble-nesting. Which is a good thing. Its a sign he's happy.

Some of mine have started to bubblenest within two hours. Some pet stores just take good care of their fish, and that means you did a good job picking out a healthy one and making him comfortable in his tank. You should congratulate yourself. He's nesting.

I've had some of my boys for weeks - heck, some even months and still never seen a nest from them.
