My oldest batch of fry are currently 10 weeks old. At 12 weeks, several of them are finding new homes, including one going to live with my mother, probably at her work. Now, she only goes there 5 days a week, not all 7. At 12 weeks, CAN they go the weekend without eating? Or would it be better for them to stay here longer where they can be fed every single day, twice a day, like I have been doing for a long while?

So I guess the question really is...at what point are they ready to go 2 days without food?

i think they'll be fine without food for 2 days
but i never tested it it on fish that young

the youngest bettas i've had were 12 weeks old.

Well, they won't be leaving me until the 21st of this month at the earliest, which will be the day they turn 12 weeks old since hatchdate. Actually, realistically, it'll be more like the 23rd, if the fish in question is going to work with my mother. And then the fish would technically be 13 weeks on the first day it would have to go without food.

Anyone else think they'd be okay without food for two days...?

I just got some that should be 10 weeks now from a friend. Their mum has had them eating Betta Bio-Gold for a couple weeks now. I think they're starting to like living here...I give them worms almost as often as I'm feeding them pellets.

I'm trying to wean mine off onto pellets and flakes from their all-living-or-once-living (live & frozen) diet, and they aren't liking me too much for it. Which is funny, because they started eating flakes at 6 weeks, then I started spoiling them and not making them eat it...now they don't want to go back to it! But they have to, since I don't think my mum's coworkers want worms in their fridge or freezer. :)
