2.5 Gallon Scud Jar

Lol, here is a a pic. To get a proper search on Google, you might have to look up aquarium scud or scud amphipod. They are also called side swimmers, I think.

cute a

and creepy
When you get up close, yeah. That was my camera zoomed in as far as it goes. When looking at them normally, they look kinda like weird shrimp. I might put some actual shrimp in there too. I have reds already, so maybe blue or black.

they are cute when you zoom in a lot and you can see their lil eyes

Man I'm a sucker for these little jarrarium type setups haha love it!

did they get eaten?
No, my tank has microrasboras and a imbellis betta, and some of the scuds are almost an inch long, so I think they're pretty safe. When they breed, though, it's game on for the fish. ha ha

lol!
that betta...
is going to eat a lot!

Some of my plants are showing good growth, the anacharis in particular. The frogbit roots have already reached the bottom of the jar, and the anubhas put out several new roots, although no new leaves yet. The guppy grass has even put out some new shoots, and the hornwort needles are coming in too. The roots of some of the giant duckweed are almost an inch long.

I wonder if some velvet shrimp would work in there... or is the tank too small?
