1st attempt at breeding fish

The Dovii stopped fighting each other and started fighting the catfish and to my surprise there are eggs covering the rock. I put the catfish in another tank and now I welcome any info on what to do and not do as far as water changes, removing other fish etc...

wow you chose some real monsters to breed....how big is the tank and the 2 fishes? geez i wouldnt put my hand within 3 feet of that tank if they are decent sized

dovii, the 2nd most powerful and agressive cichlid there, and you had to breed it??? lol wasnt two enough!!!

How big is ya tank mate, water changes depends on tank size and so on, but i can tell you its better to get rid of any fish in the tank.

Getting Dovii to get along long enough to breed is an extremely tough thing to do. Congrats on getting it done. I have 1 male named Wolfie in a 170g tank. He's only 5 inches at the moment but will not let anything in his tank. He does a great job when it comes time to culling fry. I considered attempting to eventually breed mine but the market for the fry is very slim. Not many people want and have the space for a fish that can get up to 30 inches and (in my opinion) are the meanest, nastiest cichlid there is. Arent they great?

meanest cichlid? dude ever seen a N.Beani? i have heard alot of storys of dovii's fleeing for there life, some dont even put them in a top 10 agression rating because theres no point the only problem is, there known to be common to bloat and known to break there backs after having spastic attacks.

black nastys are mean, but every fish is different and theres millions of peoples with stories that arent even true. imo they are the most powerful. ive seen meaner festaes

congrats on the ebreeding....i have a coupelk pair of dovii breeders ......they are not all that diffulcult to breed as one would think but as you know tanks mates are not good for breeding dovii.....and as for Beani ....you all are on teh Beani Bandwagon...i can bet that 99 percent of you never saw a beani let alone had a chance to see one in action...........trust me no Dovii will run from a Beani ...dont get me wrong Beani are mean but you all are on the bandwagon cause no one has any.... again congrats
