Hi guys an girls. As I have stated in a couple of other posts I have been on the look out for a 6X2x2 180 gal, or a 7x2x2, either will fit quite well were it is going. I am moving my current 90gal fish into it and hope to get it within the next few weeks (ebay depending). This tank is a certainty and I am just unsure on stocking of Cichlids at theis size as 90 is the biggest I have ever had.

The stocking from my 90 that will be going to the bigger one is;

1xGolden Saum (false green terror)
1xL201 Plec
1xBlood parrot
1xElectric Blue Jack Dempsey
1x Red Shoulder Severum
1x Striped Annostonus
1x Senegal Bichir

Ok my reral question is, can i possibly put an Oscar in there too, what i would do if possible is on the moving over of the tanks I would add a suitably sized Oscar first, then add the other Cichlids shortly after. I know there are a lot of Aggressive fish there and i just wanted peoples opinions really. if not, what other kind of stuff do you think may be good for it?

Thanks in advance, vinny

You may have aggression with the terror and the dempsey, but get a reasonable sized oscar 6" ish, put him in first, make sure you have plenty of things to break up line of sight and you might get away with it. Its certainly big enough - you lucky devil!!!

How big is the terror and the dempsey at the moment?

Hi Minxy, bought the Dempsey and Terror at about 2" and 3" . The Green terror is now about 5" and the Dempsey not too much bigger than when i got him. EBJD's grow slower though. The good thing is nothing in the tank shows him any attention at all so he has no stress which is good considering there are currently 2 GTs a Blue acara mating with a 6" Parrot an a 7" Severum.

two green terror if they breed might cause a problem, but otherwise, its as is with cichlids,trial and error, but sounds ok :good:

Thanks nelly, there will only be one GT, the Gold saum, I bought two as Juvies as i was after a Gold Saum an couldnt tell which was which, the female is going back soon as they have already started flirting. The tank will be just the one GT, not brave enough to add 2 with an EBJD an an Oscar :rolleyes:
