Buddies, I am planning to have a single male Betta (no other fish) in an aquarium with plants.
Which is a better aquarium? (The figures are in inches)
18L x 9B x 9H
or
12L x 12B x 9H
Or can someone suggest better dimensions?

9 inch height for both, as in the dimension perpendicular from the ground? 9'' - Then wouldn't both tanks be the same height anyway? What does "B" stand for? I think surface area is what would tell these two apart - if your L and B values are of the top of your tank, then the surface area of your first mentioned (18x9) would be 162 square inches. The 12x12 one would be 144 square inches. I'd go with the first.

Yup, larger surface area means more space for gas exchange, which never hurt anyone ;>

18 x 9 x 9 would be best IMO. More swimming length, and more places to put plants/ornaments for your betta.
