well tonite i just came home and cheked my 2 foot and now these are the fish i have, 5 neons,5 guppys(3 female) 1 glolite, 1 harliquin and the 3 glass catfish. can some one plz tell me wat has happned. i dotn have any test kits at the momnt but am planning to get one tomorow. so i can chk the levels of stuff.

no. i added the neons first. then the guppys a few weeks later, then some glo lies afterwards, then harliquins a weeks ago then glass fish three days ago.

With that many fish you need to have test kits. Without them you have no idea what you are subjecting the fish to. This many fish in a new tank without knowing the parameters is a disaster waiting to happen. Keep doing water changes until you get test kits and then let us know the parameters that you are dealing with. This will enable the people in the forum to give you a solution based on facts instead of just guessing what might be wrong. Hope your fish make it and keep us posted.

As already mentioned you really do need to go out and buy some test kits.....

Amonia test kit = 6 or 7 us dollars
Nitrite test kit = 6 or 7 dollars
Nitrate/ph test kit = 8 us dollars

saving your fishes lives= PRICELESS!

heheheh had to do that! :D

Was your tank brand new or did you cycle it?

in reality he needs a master test kit. I suggst the ones from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals. They should run you about $19.99 at petsmart.

well now the count is 19,

i took a water smaple to my lfs and they tested it for me and they sed it was perfectly fine. everything was normal and good. so im cleaning my gravel A.S.A.P.

to help your fish before you can test the water it would be a good idea to only feed your fish every other day with a small meal so that the good bacteria has a chance to establish fully in the tank, I also would be a good idea for the next few weeks to clean 5% of the water every three days, try to work the days out so that the water change happens the day before you feed them, so they can scavange. when you have done this for a week or two you can start feeding them every day (once) and slowly start feeding them more, this should stop the imediate fatalities
