I have a new Jager 150watt heater to use in my 10g (it's in a basement, so i need extra heating power to keep it stable). doesn't get THAT cold down there, but probably high 50s at its very coldest. usually in the 60s during the winter.

Would using this 150watt heater be BAD in any way for the tank? I don't care if it's simply overkill. Just as long as it won't HURT the fish in the tank.

I used to have a 75watt Jager in that tank and it broke, i think not being able to keep with the temps in the basement.)

cool, i read your other post. seems ok. of course, if it does break and fail to shut off, it's gonna get mighty hot in there.

i actually put the 150watt in my 37g, and took my old 125watt out and put that in my 10g. probably not a huge difference.

thanks!
