125L Community Tank Evolution

Hi guys,

I've been on here 3 months now after buying a second hand tank after many months/years of planning.

I know how much I love looking at your pics so thought I'd share some of my own and show how my tank has evolved.

This is the tank the day I got it including everything it came with

After a week of testing the water (filter was mature but gave it a week adding ammonia and testing) I added the first fish and plants

After searching online I realised the plants I'd been sold at my LFS were not aquatic so ordered some aquatic ones online

Since then I have had a little rescale but not much has changed.

I'm not sure where it will go next but looking forward to it already!

Thanks - ill probably get my bolivian ram (the cute guy on the bottom left) a friend but after that I'm probably about fully stocked.

Then I'll see if I can persuade the other half to let me have another tank

  Impressive! I like the wood arrangement in the sand. I'm always an advocate of more plants, what about a few more anacharis?

It's a decent start for a first tank.

I agree it needs more plants - currently I'm able to take a clipping every 3 or 4 days from the anacharis so hoping it'll keep expanding and I can fill that whole back left corner in time.

No co2 - just liquid fertilisers

Seems to stop the plants dying but not getting anywhere near the growth I would like.

Can't justify co2 at the moment though

Did you end up getting the second Bolivian Ram?
