is a 10g tank too small to keep marine fish??

if not can you recomend some fish for me??

I would quite like to have a clown fish is that possible???

I do not want to have a shrimp/crab tank id prefare fish

what do you think is the best setup??

please help from a newbie

Well i just started a 12 Uk gallon (dunno if you are in US) and i have a tomato clown in there and a fire fish. I would keep a clown and something else small in there. A FOWLR tank would be the best for me, but i do a FO and its going really well. Its all up to you, someone will be along with some more help.

Hope i helped a bit

10 gallons is the limit for what I would call a 'standard' nano tank. Unfortunately, people stock a ten gallon with fish that shouldn't be cramped into such small quarters. The most optimal fish for a 10 gallon is a small clown goby or a firefish. Firefish are shy and tend NOT to leave the area of their darthole. They are hardy but like to jump.

Minimal tank volumes for clownfish are 30G's. Some people squeeze them into 20's.

The issue with nano tanks is that they are inherently unstable. The more fish you add..the more food you add...the more fish poop and nitrates. If you like marine fish, get a larger tank....a 29 or 30G. Try not to put more than 1 fish in.
