1000+ Gallon Pond

well after much discussion with my parents, we have found tha a pond will be much easier to maintain than a lawn so out garden will be a rock garden with a HUGE pond smack dab right in the middle
we can buy koi in NSW but not anywere else so theres our stocking fish.
so the question is: how many koi to put in the pond??
