$100 Bettas

he's gorgeous! The seller is from Indonesia, supposedly the oranges are some of the rarest of the rare. I have a pair of oranges that I paid a pretty price for.

i've gotten "not quite show quality" bettas from a well known breeder on the internet. i'm lucky that she lives about 30 minutes away from me so i don't have to worry about shipping costs. usually when i visit her i pick up more than one betta, i always get a matched female for breeding purposes as well. she has bettas up on aquabid and some of her true halfmoons go for $80 -100. i don't plan to pay that type of coin for my fish because by breeding quality stock myself i hope to achieve the same caliber of fish..eventually ;) i got lucky with the blue crown-tail i got off her, not only did it win betta of the month here :D i threw it up for judging on the singapore breeders site i go on when i'm not here and the response was positive. the only thing they could really critisize was a bit of red wash on the anal fin. the possibilities with breeding him look pretty good. it takes a lot of effort, time and stress to achieve the types of bettas you see on the websites. i believe the prices are worth it as the bettas you see for sale are really only indicative of a very small portion of any given spawn. they are the cream of the crop.

Got any pics!??!? :hyper:

I agree bkk, I think they are worth the price. It is definitely a lot of work, a very admirable trade in my opinion. The fish these breeders produce....

I've done a small bit of searching for breeders in AZ but haven't had any luck really. I'd love to see some stock from somewhere other than Petco/Petsmart/Wal-Mart. There's really only one local shop and he gets his bettas from the same trucks they do.

If anyone happens to know off-hand an AZ betta breeder, send the info my way please! :)
