they seem fine, except wtih teh first setup i'd go with 3 platties unless they're all the same sex. If you get a male and feamle it's best to tack on another female and make it a trio to spread out the aggression. so basically, a good list for the 10 gallon would be:
- one male betta
- one apple snail
- two platies
or
- one male betta
- one african dwarf frog
- one otto
those setups seem reasonable... let me know if they are too much or too little
