Well, I have skipped a few steps in the log, but here is what has happened.
First got this ten gallon started early January with Flourite substrate, and then broke the original tank that I had, so switched tanks, but luckily only took a few minutes because I had another 10 gallon. So the filter was only off for about 15 minutes, restarted it with new treated tap water and then began the cycling. I did the Add and Wait method and it worked awesome, once it started showing zero ammonia and nitrites I ordered plants off of liveaquaria.com, 3 Dwarf Baby Tears and 2 Micro Swords. They ended up sending 4 DBT instead of the 3 so that was nice. Was finished planting them within 30 minutes of getting them and didn't tie them down but used glass beads to weight them down on the edges. Two of the DBT stayed in place and the other two are being restrained. I am monitoring the water and adding a few drops of ammonia every day; after a week or so I am going to be looking for fish to add to here, the LFS is somewhat limited but will eep a l;ook out for any suggestions. The plan was 2 female rams and a pigmy cory but we shall see. Here is a quick picture.
It has one T8 bulb but is located right next to a window which definitely helps. The two plants have already rooted somewhat over night.
