10 gallon planted tank

This is my 10g planted aquarium. It currently has 5 rummynose tetras in it. I will be moving them to my 55g and getting a group( 14 Rummynoses).
I have these plants.
Hydrilla Verticillata( Waterthyme/ Anacharis)
Ceratopteris Thalictoreides/Cornuta (Water sprite)
Hygrophila Difformis( Water Wisteria)
Limnobium Laevigatium( Amazon Frogbit)
Some duckweed

Need some help deciding something
I was considering getting a 5g as a Quarantine Tank and using this 10g as a Betta Tank/shrimp tank.
Which would be better?

I personally love female bettas although could be challenging at first as they establish their pecking order. They are very beautiful to look at and easy to care for.

Ok, would it be ok to have a male halfmoon betta with shrimp?
If not, I'll just get the betta.

Yes that works too. Depends on the shrimp and not too small or they could get eaten you can get ghost shrimp, cherry shrimp, Amano shrimp few examples.
